Thyroid & Parathyroid Surgery

The thyroid gland is important for producing and storing hormones that regulate the body’s metabolism, heart rate, blood pressure, development (particularly in children), and more. It is a bow-tie shaped gland that sits in front of the windpipe at the base of the neck.

Meanwhile, parathyroid glands regulate the amount of calcium that is present within the bones and the blood. They are pea-sized glands. There are usually four of them, and they hide behind the thyroid gland. 

If any of these types of glands are not functioning properly or are affected by a growth or disease, you may need to undergo surgery.
